Green SMEs is a local Non-Profit Organization based in Uganda bringing together hundreds of local companies to ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns. The organization supports the effective implementation and promotion of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our vision of a green economic growth is one that provides prosperity for all within the ecological limits of the planet.
Green SMEs
Achieving economic growth and sustainable development, requires that we instantly reduce our ecological footprint by changing the way we produce and consume goods and resources. It requires a strong national framework for sustainable consumption and production that is integrated into national and sectoral plans, sustainable business practices and consumer behavior, together with adherence to international norms on the management of hazardous chemicals and wastes.
Efficient management of shared natural resources, and the way we dispose of toxic waste and pollutants, are important targets to achieve this goal. Encouraging industries, businesses, and consumers to recycle and reduce waste is equally important, as well as supporting developing countries to move towards more sustainable patterns of consumption by 2030.
