We connect community experience with climate evidence and public policy. Through research, community engagement, advocacy and partnerships, GREEN SMEs helps make women’s experiences and locally led solutions more visible in climate planning, adaptation and mitigation.
Project and Partners
- ICAT 2025: Community-level research in selected Karamoja districts examining adaptation and mitigation impacts, gaps and drivers in relation to Uganda’s AFOLU climate commitments; approximately 46 respondents.
- Climate Change Department, Ministry of Water and Environment: Technical collaboration around climate evidence, Uganda’s NDC commitments and community level climate action.
- Women in Climate Change Action 2024: Adaptation and mitigation program linking women’s land rights, sustainable agriculture and climate action; approximately 420 women reached.
- GIZ Uganda West Nile: Capacity strengthening of district resource persons, including engagement in Arua and other refugee hosting districts.
- Government and Civil Society engagement: Evidence generation, stakeholder dialogue, network building and advocacy connecting community priorities with climate and development processes
